Karen's Story

Life Since graduating from Dixon High School, I have been living in Vermont with my husband, John and three wonderful children. Samantha (19), Donald (15), and Kenny (12). I work for the University of Vermont as a secretary. School Well let's see. I left Vacaville in 1981 after sophomore year and moved to Vermont with my mother and step-father. We lived in Vermont for one year and after my junior year we moved back to California, but I was unable to return to Vacaville, still don't know why, but we moved to Dixon when we returned and I actually graduated from Dixon. t to college in 1994 after my third child was born so that I could gain some skills to be able to return to the work force when he was old enough to go to school. I took classes part-time to attain my Associates Degree in Office Management which I did in 1998. I have just recently decided to return for my bachelors degree. Workplace I worked part-time jobs until my kids were all in school. I began working at the University of Vermont while my youngest child was beginning school. I love working at the University. I work in the Mechanical Engineering Department as the unit secretary and enjoy the interaction with the undergraduate and graduate students.
